Thamesmead is home to 400 hectares of green space, 7 kilometres of canals, 5 lakes and over 53,000 trees. It’s a beautiful marriage of the big city and the countryside. The Thamesmead Community Wellbeing Initiative is a health campaign focussing on the town, promoting physical activities via walking or in a group setting.

To encourage the residents of the area to enjoy the miles of footpath the town had to offer, the TCWI has planned and mapped out seven signposted walking routes across the town. These routes around the town were chosen to minimise a pedestrians’ time spent walking alongside traffic, leading them through parks, along canals and around lakes, giving the walker more of a connection to nature despite being less than a half a mile away from the town at any given time.

For these routes, I designed a map depicting the local area, along with wayfinding elements such as signage & totems.

Here’s some branding stuff, along with photos of a brochure I made for these routes. Click the map below to open it as a PDF document.
